Approximately 400 hectares in size, Tuan Chau Island is situated northeast of Ha Long and is connected to the mainland by a major roadway. The island’s advantageous location on both land and water makes it a major transportation center in the region.
By road, it takes only about 2 hours to reach Tuan Chau Island from Hanoi and 3 hours from Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh. If you take the Hai Phong – Ha Long highway, it is roughly 30 minutes to reach Tuan Chau Island!
By water, visitors can rent a boat from Hai Phong Port to Tuan Chau Port, the whole route takes only about 1 hour.
For tourists who want to go to Tuan Chau from the central and southern regions of Vietnam or abroad, you can fly to Van Don Airport (Quang Ninh) or Cat Bi Airport (Hai Phong) and, from there, travel to the island.
Famous for its unique water sports, Tuan Chau Island is best visited during the summer, from April to around October. The bright, sunny, and dry weather of this season is ideal for swimming, diving, or simply resting on the beach.
