2-day Ninh Binh Nature Trip: Tam Coc – Cuc Phuong National Park

07:15 Pickup from the Hanoi Old Quarter and transport to Ninh Binh.

09:00 Take a brief 20-minute break on the way.

10:15 Visit the Ancient Capital of Hoa Lu.

Visit the Cozy Vietnam restaurant. We begin our twenty-minute trip through the gorgeous Ninh Binh countryside to Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, where we will wander around.

(If you do not want to ride a bike, we will take you to Hoa Lu via bus.)

Hoa Lu was Vietnam’s first capital, founded in the 17th century by the Dinh and Le Dynasties. Through the guides’ narrative, you will learn about the amazing ancient architecture and artifacts from that time period.

11:30 Cycling for sightseeing

Continue your bicycle trip around the hamlet for another half-hour to enjoy the lovely surroundings and learn more about the Ninh Binh people’s way of life.

12:00 Time for lunch!

Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the Cozy Vietnam Restaurant, a five-star facility. Enjoy delicious local food while appreciating Ninh Binh’s stunning mountain and river surroundings.

13:00 Afternoon Activities:

Option 1: Take a 1.5-hour boat trip in the picturesque “Halong Bay on land” Tam Coc.

Tam Coc Bich Dong is a spectacular cave system surrounded by stunning limestone cliffs and rice fields. A boat trip down the Tam Coc River will provide you with amazing calm and tranquility.

Option 2: Go to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Trang An.

In Ninh Binh, Trang An is arguably the most visited tourist destination. The location has stunning views of the towering mountains and gently flowing river, which were included in the 2016 movie “Kong: Skull Island.”

16:00 Explore Mua Caves.

On top of the breathtaking Lying Dragon Mountain is the lovely cave system known as Hang Mua, or Mua Caves. The breathtaking view of Tam Coc’s rice fields and river from the top of Hang Mua will leave you in awe.

17:00 The minivan will transport you to the hotel or bungalow.

17:30 Check into the room.

19:00 Have supper at a nearby hotel, guesthouse, or restaurant.

07:00 Have a delicious and filling breakfast at a restaurant to get energy for the day.

08:15 Check out of your room.

08:30 Picked up and taken to Cuc Phuong National Park in a minivan.

09:15 Reach Cuc Phuong National Park

There, you will meet adorable creatures and discover the history of Cuc Phuong’s creation at the Endangered Primate Rescue Center and Turtle Conservation Center.

11:00 Take a minivan through the main woodland for around 20 kilometers to the park’s center.

11:45 Eat a lunch of light local dishes.

13:00 Continue your exploration of Cuc Phuong National Park.

We’ll hike to see the “Ancient Tree” and the “1000 Years Old Tree.” We then proceed on a further hike into the National Park to enjoy the sights and discover more about the plants and animals of Vietnam’s oldest forest.

14:30 Exploring the Prehistoric Man Cave.

15:30 Return to Mua Cave in a minivan and board a bus to Hanoi.

19:00 Once you arrive in Hanoi, you will be taken to your hotel. The journey is over!
