See Itinerary Details

Day 1: Hanoi - Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang, approx. 7 km trekking

Morning:

Pick up at the Old Quarter in Hanoi at around 8 am.

From Hanoi, we will go through Tuyen Quang, passing by various beautiful tea farms, mountains, and ethnic villages.

Noon:

Stop at Tuyen Quang for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. You will have more time to relax and stretch after a love morning on the road.

Afternoon:

Get back on the road. We will reach Ha Giang in the late afternoon.

Welcome to Ha Giang!

If time permits, we will have a short trek around Ha Thanh and Thon Tha Villages. These ethnic villages have a peaceful and serene beauty, with rustic stilt houses nestled between the rice terraces and green palm hills.

Here, you will have dinner and stay overnight at a local homestay of Tay people.

Day 2: Lung Vai - Khuoi My - Ban Tha, approx. 15 km trekking

Morning:

Have a hearty breakfast to set your energy for the long trekking adventure ahead.

The day begins as we depart from the stay in Ha Thanh Village and trek for about 6 to 8 hours until we reach the lovely Lung Vai Village.

Along this trek, you will be shocked at how beautiful the Ha Giang landscape is: the extending terraced rice fields, charming rivers and streams winding on the foot of majestic mountains, and rumbling green trees like songs of nature in your ears.

As the trek enters the villages of Ha Giang, we have the chance to meet up with various ethnic groups on the way. This is a great time to take in nature and the cheerful vibe of this highland.

Noon:

We will stop for a light picnic lunch amidst the stunning Ha Giang nature before making our way to Khuoi My Village. This spot is known for its rolling rice terraces, where you can join local farmers for some farm work if you desire!

As we reach Ban Tha Village, the driver will pick you up and transfer you to Nam Dam, a small village with otherworldly natural beauty. Here, we will enjoy a home-cooked dinner and spend the night at a local homestay.

Day 3: Quan Ba - Dong Van, approx. 10 km trekking

Morning:

A wonderful day is ahead as we pass through Quan Ba on the journey to Dong Van.

On the way, admire the incredible landscape of thrilling passes winding on the grand mountain ranges, looking out to the dreamy valleys.

We will stop for breakfast at Tam Son Village in Quan Ba before visiting H’mong King Palace, a well-known tourist spot with elegant architecture amidst peaceful nature.

Afternoon:

We have lunch at Dong Van Ancient Town with simple but delicious local food.

Enjoy a delicious lunch.

Then, we will go on a 3.5-hour trekking trip to the highest mountain of Dong Van. On top of the mountain, you will be in awe of the breathtaking panoramic view over the Dong Van landscape.

Time permitting, we can visit some ethnic villages around the area to see more of Ha Giang’s daily life.

Finally, have dinner and settle for a good night’s sleep in a hotel.

Day 4: Meo Vac - Ma Pi Leng - Ha Giang City, approx. 10 km trekking

Morning:

Have breakfast before coming with us to explore Dong Van Ancient Town. This town attracts tourists with an old charm of tiny houses and slow-paced living.

From Dong Van, we will make our way through the off-the-beaten track up to Pu Lo fortress, where you can take in the spectacular view of Ha Giang panorama.

Afternoon:

We then continue to trek about 8 km more to the top of Ma Pi Leng Pass, a wonderful part of the famous Ha Giang Loop, before descending into Meo Vac Valley.

Once the trekking is done, you will be taken back to Ha Giang City by car for dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 5: Ha Giang - Hanoi

This is the final day of the trip. Our tour guides will drive you back to Hanoi through a lesser-known road. You can enjoy fascinating scenery along the way.

Before arriving in Hanoi, we’ll make a stop at Duong Lam Ancient Village. This is one of the rare villages that can still preserve all the traditional architecture and cultural values from the old days.
