Conquering the Fansipan Summit

According to Professor L. Salles’ 1935 book, “Conquering Fansipan Summit”, the first individuals to conquer Fansipan were two French sergeants, Denis and Dollo, who established the summit’s benchmark in 1905.

The trekking route to Fansipan Summit was developed in the 1990s, mainly for researchers and explorers. However, 2016 marked a huge shift when the Fansipan cable car system was put into operation, transforming the summit into Sapa’s renowned and easily reachable tourist hotspot.

Summer (May to August)

Summer means the rainy season has come to the Fansipan Summit. The rains bring the tropical forests to life, making them incredibly vibrant and beautiful. However, it’s worth noting that trekking trails can get a bit difficult when it’s wet. So, we recommend you check the weather forecast to avoid heavy rain and have the best adventure possible.

Autumn (September to October)

Autumn is another fantastic time to visit Fansipan, bringing pleasantly cool and dry weather. It’s also harvest season for the Sapa people, so as you ride the cable car to the top of Fansipan, you’ll be treated to the stunning sight of golden terraced fields.
