Cua Van Fishing Village is situated at the boundary of Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay, to the south of Ha Long City, beneath a series of massive limestone islands. In the past, the community had over 300 households living on colorful floating houses, fostering a unique cultural identity, and was a familiar stop for local fishing boats.

Today, the majority of residents have relocated to the mainland, leaving just around 12 clusters of rafts, which include classrooms, cultural homes, and some fishing farms, with a concentration on tourism development. In 2012, Cua Van Fishing Village was named one of the world’s 16 most beautiful historic villages by a well-known travel publication.
